How to change MP3 encoder settings |
|
To change MP3 encoder settings use "Settings\MP3 Encoder" menu command. It will display the following dialog box:
| Use constant bitrate | If checked the constant bitrate for the MP3 files will be used. Otherwise MP3 files will be encoded with variable bitrate (VBR). |
| Bitrate | Selects bitrate value (in kbit/sec) for the constant bitrate mode. The higher value the better quality, and a high bitrate means bigger file size. |
| VBR Quality | Provides a value from 0 to 9 which defines output quality for the variable bitrate mode. Zero represents the highest quality, and increases the overall encoding time. |
| Write VBR header | Instructs AudioMagician to save VBR header to the MP3 file. When using VBR mode, this header will allow MP3 players to determine the proper file length. |
| Mode | Selects an output mode. Mono and Stereo are well known modes. In the Joint stereo mode, the encoder will make use of a correlation between both channels in order to achieve higher compression. This will enhance the quality of constant bitrate recordings, and reduce the size of variable bitrate recordings. |
| Generate CRC | When checked, a CRC will be generated for each MP3 frame. |
| Original | Sets the "Original" flag in the MP3 file. | |
| Copyrighted | Sets the "Copyrighted" flag in the MP3 file. |
| Private | Sets the "Private" flag in the MP3 file. |
